Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-11-02

These terms govern your use of Tabibito, operated by Daniel Rodríguez (Costa Rica). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

If you have questions, write to us at legal@tabibitotravel.com.

1. What Tabibito is

Tabibito is a collaborative trip-planning tool: it lets you create trips, add flights, accommodations, activities and expenses, split costs within the group, keep checklists, and generate AI-assisted budget estimates.

We're not a travel agency or a travel service provider -- we don't sell flights, lodging, or activities, and we're not a party to any booking you make with third parties.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid name and email when registering, and you're responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity on your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tabibito.

If you notice unauthorized use of your account, let us know as soon as possible at legal@tabibitotravel.com.

3. Content you submit

Your trip information (titles, dates, expenses, notes, etc.) remains yours. You grant us permission only to store it and display it to whoever you choose to share the trip with (the trip's other members), for the purpose of providing the service to you.

You're responsible for the content you submit. Don't use Tabibito to store or share illegal, defamatory content, or content that infringes third-party rights.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization.
  • Interfere with the app's normal operation (attacks, mass scraping, intentional server overload).
  • Use the app for illegal activity or to send spam through trip invitations.
  • Resell or redistribute access to Tabibito without our permission.

5. AI budget estimator

Estimates generated by the AI Estimator (Groq, with OpenRouter as a fallback) are indicative, generated automatically from the data you enter. They are not a real quote or a price guarantee -- actual flight, lodging, and activity costs can vary significantly.

We don't recommend making purchase decisions based solely on these estimates.

6. Premium and payments

Some features (full dashboard, unlimited estimates, settlement optimization, trip map) require a Premium subscription.

Premium payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record: Paddle bills, charges, and handles applicable taxes on our behalf, and is who you have the payment contractual relationship with, not us directly.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from Paddle's billing portal (accessible from the app's Premium section). See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

During the beta period, some users receive free Premium as a thank-you for testing the app -- this benefit is temporary and may change once we leave beta.

7. Beta

Tabibito is currently in beta. This means there may be bugs, frequent feature changes, and we don't guarantee continuous service availability during this stage.

8. Termination

You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile in the app, or by writing to us at legal@tabibitotravel.com.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, especially the Acceptable Use section.

9. Warranties and liability

Tabibito is provided "as is", without warranties that it will be error-free or continuously available.

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for travel decisions made based on the app's information (including AI estimates), nor for indirect losses arising from use of the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If the change is significant, we'll note it on this page.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica.
